2025 Session Last amended: 2013 session

§ 204B.22 — Election Judges; Number Required

Plain-Language Summary

Each election precinct must have a minimum number of election judges depending on the number of registered voters. Larger precincts need more judges. The appointing authority can add extra judges if needed to handle voter turnout.

Practical Notes
The minimum is typically three or four judges per precinct, with more required for larger precincts. Precincts with combined polling places may share some judges. Having enough judges helps reduce wait times for voters.
