§ 204B.295 — Voting Instructions and Sample Ballots in Languages Other Than English; Multilingual Election Judges

Plain-Language Summary

Election officials must provide voting instructions and sample ballots in languages other than English in precincts where a significant number of voters speak another language. Multilingual election judges should be recruited for these precincts when possible.

Practical Notes
This helps voters who have limited English skills participate in elections. If your precinct has a large population of non-English speakers, translated voting materials should be available. Bilingual election judges can assist voters who need help understanding the ballot.
