§ 214.33 — Reporting

Plain-Language Summary

Anyone who knows a health professional cannot practice safely due to illness, substance use, or a mental or physical condition may report it to the program or the board. Professionals in this situation must self-report. The program manager must report certain violations to the board. Employers must report drug diversion by regulated persons.

Practical Notes
If you are a health professional struggling with substance use or a health condition that affects your practice, you are required to self-report to either the program or your board. Employers who discover drug diversion must report it to the licensing board, with limited exceptions for self-reported participants already in the program.
