§ 214.32 — Program Operations and Responsibilities

Plain-Language Summary

This section details how the health professionals services program operates. A committee of board representatives manages the program, which provides referrals, individualized participation agreements, and compliance monitoring. Participants pay for their own evaluation, treatment, and testing costs. Certain people are not eligible, including those who diverted drugs for others or are accused of sexual misconduct.

Practical Notes
If you are referred to the health professionals services program, you will sign a participation agreement that may include practice monitoring, drug screening, and support group attendance. You are responsible for the costs of evaluation and treatment. Completion of the program fulfills the agreement terms. If you are discharged for noncompliance, the matter is referred to your licensing board.
