2025 Session Last amended: 2013 session

§ 216.17 — Notices and Orders; Filings; Service

Plain-Language Summary

All notices and orders from the Public Utilities Commission must be signed by the secretary, and electronic signatures are allowed. The commission can serve documents by mail, personal delivery, or electronic service. Regulated utilities and state agencies must accept electronic service and must provide an electronic address for that purpose.

Practical Notes
Regulated utilities and state agencies are required to accept electronic service and provide electronic addresses. Other parties can opt into electronic service by providing an electronic address. Electronic filing and service streamline the regulatory process.
