§ 254B.0505 — Rate Requirements

Plain-Language Summary

This section directs the commissioner to set payment rates for different levels of substance use disorder treatment, from early intervention to high-intensity residential care. It also covers rates for assessments, peer recovery support, withdrawal management, and room and board. Services may be provided through telehealth at the same rates as in-person services.

Practical Notes
Outpatient services are limited to 6 hours per day or 30 hours per week unless the commissioner approves more. Group treatment sessions cannot exceed a 48-to-1 client-to-staff ratio. Payment begins from the day services start if the assessment is completed on time. Peer recovery support is limited to 14 hours per week per client.
