§ 254B.052 — Peer Recovery Support Services Requirements

Plain-Language Summary

This section sets the rules for peer recovery support services in Minnesota. Recovery peers work one-on-one with clients to help them reach their recovery goals. The services must be voluntary, follow an individual recovery plan, and be documented. Recovery community organizations must complete compliance training to remain eligible vendors.

Practical Notes
An individual recovery plan must be completed within the first three sessions. A recovery peer cannot provide services to someone they live with or employ. Starting January 1, 2027, organizations must complete compliance training before enrolling as vendors. Services not provided according to these rules are subject to money recovery by the state.
