§ 254B.216 — Resident Record

Plain-Language Summary

Certified recovery residences in Minnesota must document that each resident received key information on or before their first day of residency. Required disclosures include the resident bill of rights, financial obligations and refund policy, description of services, relapse policies, property policies, emergency procedures, house rules, and any other required orientation materials. Residents must sign to confirm they received these documents.

Practical Notes
If you are moving into a certified recovery residence in Minnesota, the home is legally required to give you written information about your rights and the residence’s rules on your first day. Keep a copy of everything you sign. If the home fails to provide these disclosures, that is a violation you can report to the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
