§ 270C.72 — Tax Clearance; Issuance of Licenses

Plain-Language Summary

Prevents the state from issuing, renewing, or transferring a professional or business license if the applicant owes $500 or more in delinquent taxes or has not filed required tax returns. The license can be restored after the taxpayer gets a tax clearance certificate.

Practical Notes
If you need a license to do your job or run your business in Minnesota, unpaid taxes can block or revoke that license. You have 30 days to request a hearing before the license is revoked, and you can get the license back by paying your taxes or setting up a payment plan.
