§ 299A.15 — Aid and License Withheld

No government agency can give money, permits, or licenses to a wheelchair transportation operator unless the operator follows the wheelchair safety rules in sections 299A.11 through 299A.14.
299A.15 AID AND LICENSE WITHHELD.
No agency of the state, political subdivision or other public agency shall grant or approve any financial assistance to any operator for the purchase or operation of any vehicle used for transportation service or grant any permit or license otherwise required by law for operation of that service unless the operator of the transportation service complies with the provisions of sections 299A.11 to 299A.14.

Practical Notes
This enforcement provision means that operators who fail to meet wheelchair securement and inspection requirements can lose their government funding, permits, and licenses. Compliance with wheelchair safety laws is a condition for receiving any public financial assistance or operating permits.
