§ 325D.03 — Discrimination Unlawful

Plain-Language Summary

It is illegal for a business in Minnesota to charge different prices in different cities or areas of the state if the goal is to hurt a competitor or destroy competition. This is called unfair price discrimination.

Practical Notes
If you run a business that sells goods across Minnesota, you must charge fair and consistent prices in different areas. Charging less in one city just to undercut a local competitor is illegal, but you can match a competitor’s legal prices in good faith.
