2025 Session Last amended: 2000 session

§ 336.9-321 — Licensee of General Intangible and Lessee of Goods in Ordinary Course of Business

Plain-Language Summary

A lessee in the ordinary course of business takes a lease interest free of a security interest in the goods, even if the security interest is perfected and the lessee knows of it.

Practical Notes
If you lease goods from a business in the ordinary course, the lessor’s lender’s security interest does not affect your lease.
