§ 336.9-336 — Commingled Goods

Plain-Language Summary

A security interest in goods that are commingled (mixed with other goods so they cannot be identified) attaches to the resulting product or mass. If more than one security interest attaches, they rank equally in proportion to the value of the collateral at the time of commingling.

Practical Notes
If collateral is mixed with other goods (like grain in a silo), the security interest continues in the mixture.
