§ 363A.43 — Continuing Education; Accessibility

Plain-Language Summary

State-approved continuing education and professional development courses must be made accessible to people with disabilities when requested. Violations carry the same penalties as the public records accessibility law -- $500 per violation up to $15,000.

Practical Notes
If you have a disability and need a continuing education course in an accessible format, the entity offering the course must accommodate you. If they refuse, you can seek $500 per violation plus attorney fees, capped at $15,000 total. You must file your claim within one year of the violation.
