§ 525A.08 — Preclusive Effect of Anatomical Gift, Amendment, or Revocation

Plain-Language Summary

Allows an individual to refuse to make an anatomical gift and describes the methods for recording that refusal, which bars others from making the gift on the individual's behalf.

Practical Notes
If you do not wish to donate, you can refuse by a signed record, by telling at least two adults who witnessed your refusal, or by any other documented method. Once you refuse, family members generally cannot override your decision.
