2025 Session Last amended: 1987 session

§ 60C.12 — Appeal and Review

Plain-Language Summary

This section gives claimants the right to appeal if the guaranty association denies or reduces their claim. You can first appeal to the board within 30 days. If you disagree with the board's decision, you can appeal to the Commissioner of Commerce or go directly to court.

Practical Notes
You have 30 days after getting a denial notice to appeal to the board. If the board still denies your claim, you can either appeal to the Commissioner of Commerce or skip that step and go straight to court. Keep track of deadlines because missing the 30-day window could cost you your appeal rights.
