§ 62A.151 — Health Insurance Benefits for Emotionally Disabled Children

Plain-Language Summary

Group health insurance plans that cover inpatient hospital care must also cover treatment for emotionally disabled children in licensed residential treatment facilities on the same basis as hospital care.

Practical Notes
If your child needs residential treatment for an emotional disability and your group health plan covers hospital stays, the plan must cover residential treatment the same way.
