§ 62A.30 — Coverage for Diagnostic Procedures for Cancer

Plain-Language Summary

Health plans must cover cancer screening tests including mammograms, Pap smears, colorectal screenings, and ovarian cancer tests for high-risk women. If a mammogram shows something that needs follow-up, the additional diagnostic tests must be covered with no extra cost to the patient.

Practical Notes
Your health plan must cover routine cancer screenings, and if your mammogram leads to additional tests, those follow-up tests should be covered with no co-pay or deductible.
