§ 84A.51 — Consolidated Conservation Areas Account

Plain-Language Summary

This section creates the consolidated conservation areas account in the state treasury. Half of the income from conservation lands goes to the counties, which must split it among development, schools, county revenue, and township roads.

Practical Notes
Counties with conservation areas receive half of the income earned from those lands. Of the county share, 40% goes to schools, 30% to county development, 20% to county revenue, and 10% to township roads. The other half stays in the state account for conservation purposes.
