§ 84A.32 — Department to Manage Projects

The DNR manages each approved reforestation project. The DNR can make rules about forests, wildlife, hunting, fishing, and timber sales. The DNR must not interfere with private property without fair compensation. All project income goes into the state treasury.

Practical Notes
If you own private land in a reforestation project area, your property rights are protected and the DNR cannot damage your property without paying you. The DNR must maintain roads for settlers and private landowners. The total certificates of indebtedness for these projects cannot exceed $750,000.
