§ 142E.19 — Administrative Review

Plain-Language Summary

This section establishes a process for administrative review of decisions made under the Child Care Assistance Program. Providers and families may request an administrative review before or instead of a formal fair hearing in some circumstances. The review process provides a faster, less formal way to resolve disputes with the county or state.

Practical Notes
Administrative review can be a quicker path to resolving a dispute than a formal fair hearing. Providers who receive correction orders or overpayment notices should consider requesting administrative review first. The outcome of administrative review does not prevent a party from later requesting a formal fair hearing.
