§ 204B.49 — 'i Voted' Stickers

Plain-Language Summary

The secretary of state must provide 'I Voted' stickers to be given to voters at polling places and included with absentee ballot materials. The stickers are a way to encourage civic participation and let voters show they participated in the election.

Practical Notes
The ‘I Voted’ sticker program is funded by the state. Stickers are provided at no cost to counties and municipalities. Absentee voters also receive stickers with their ballot materials so they can participate in this tradition.
