§ 245F.15 — Staff Qualifications

Plain-Language Summary

This section sets minimum qualifications for staff working in licensed withdrawal management programs. All staff who have direct contact with patients must be at least 18 years old. Program directors must have at least one year of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in administration. Other staff positions have their own qualification requirements.

Practical Notes
Patients can expect that staff in licensed withdrawal management programs meet minimum qualification standards set by state law. Program directors must have both experience working with people with substance use disorders and administrative competence. If you have concerns about staff qualifications at a facility, you can contact the licensing division of the Department of Human Services.
