2025 Session Last amended: 2023 session

§ 268B.18 — Public Outreach

Plain-Language Summary

This section requires the commissioner to spend at least 0.5% of projected benefit payments on outreach, education, and technical assistance about the paid leave program. At least half of that money must go to grants for community-based groups to help spread the word about available benefits.

Practical Notes
This means the state must actively inform workers, employers, and self-employed people about the paid leave program. Community organizations will receive grants to do outreach, especially to populations that may not otherwise learn about their rights and benefits.
