§ 303.25 — Foreign Trust Associations, Powers

Plain-Language Summary

This section allows out-of-state banking and trust associations to serve as executors, trustees, guardians, and conservators in Minnesota if reciprocal rights are granted to Minnesota institutions in the other state.

Practical Notes
A foreign trust company can serve in fiduciary roles in Minnesota only if Minnesota trust companies are allowed to do the same in that company’s home state. The foreign trust association must register and comply with Minnesota requirements.
