§ 41B.044 — Ethanol Development Program

Plain-Language Summary

This law creates a loan program to help fund ethanol production facilities in Minnesota. The authority can make secured or unsecured loans, participate in loans, and guarantee loans for building ethanol plants. It can also issue revenue bonds to raise money for these loans.

Practical Notes
Individuals, corporations, cooperatives, partnerships, and joint ventures can all participate – they do not need to meet the regular borrower eligibility requirements. The maximum assistance from state funds is $500,000 per facility. The ethanol development fund receives all loan repayments.
