§ 60C.07 — Plan of Operation

Plain-Language Summary

This section requires the guaranty association to create a plan of operation and get it approved by the commissioner. The plan must set up procedures for handling claims, managing money, and running the board of directors. If the association fails to submit a good plan, the commissioner can make rules instead.

Practical Notes
The plan of operation is the rulebook for how the association works day to day. It must include procedures for filing claims, so if your insurer goes bankrupt, you can follow these steps to seek payment. The association can also delegate its duties to a multi-state organization that provides similar protection.
