§ 62D.24 — Commissioner of Health's Authority to Contract

Plain-Language Summary

This section allows the Commissioner of Health to hire the Commissioner of Commerce or other qualified people to help with determinations required under the HMO law. The Commissioner of Health can accept these recommendations in full or in part.

Practical Notes
This allows the Health Department to draw on expertise from the Commerce Department or outside consultants when making regulatory decisions about HMOs. The Commissioner of Health retains final decision-making authority regardless of outside recommendations.
