§ 142E.55 — Administrative Sanctions

Plain-Language Summary

This section lists the administrative sanctions the state can impose on child care providers and families found to have committed financial misconduct. Sanctions include disqualification from the program for a set period of time, repayment of funds, and termination of participation. Repeat violations result in longer disqualification periods.

Practical Notes
Providers found guilty of misconduct may be barred from serving subsidized families for one year to permanently, depending on the severity of the violation. Disqualification applies across all counties, not just the one where the violation occurred. Providers who are disqualified still owe any overpayments and cannot re-enroll until the disqualification period ends and debts are resolved.
