2025 Session Last amended: 2024 session

§ 149A.09 — Denial; Refusal to Reissue; Revocation; Suspension; Limitation of License, Registration, or Permit

Plain-Language Summary

The regulatory agency can deny, revoke, or suspend a funeral service license for reasons including failing to meet qualifications, submitting false information, violating laws, criminal convictions, unpaid taxes over $500, or being behind on child support. The agency must give written notice and a chance to request a hearing before taking action.

Practical Notes
License holders must maintain good standing. Even conduct in other states can be grounds for discipline in Minnesota. If you receive notice of proposed action, you have 20 days to request a hearing or the action becomes final. The agency can also restore a revoked license if circumstances warrant.
