To practice mortuary science in Minnesota, you must be at least 21, have a bachelor's degree with mortuary science education, pass both national and state exams, and complete a 2,080-hour internship under a licensed practitioner. Licenses must be renewed every year and displayed in the place of business.

Practical Notes
The path to becoming a licensed mortician or funeral director in Minnesota requires significant education and training. The internship alone takes at least one year of full-time work. Licenses expire on December 31 each year and cannot be transferred to another person.
