§ 204B.16 — Polling Places; Designation

Local governing bodies choose polling places for each election precinct. Polling places must be accessible to people with disabilities and should be located in public buildings when possible. Schools, churches, and other buildings may be used. The location must be announced at least 90 days before the election.

Practical Notes
Your polling place is assigned based on where you live. Public buildings like schools and community centers are preferred locations. All polling places must comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. If your polling place changes, you should receive notice.
