§ 508A.22 — Examiner's Directive; Fees

Plain-Language Summary

When the examiner is satisfied that the applicant qualifies for a CPT, the examiner issues a written directive to the registrar to issue the first CPT. The directive lists all outstanding interests and encumbrances, and the abstract of title is given to the registrar. The applicant must pay the required registration fee.

Practical Notes
The examiner directive is what triggers the actual issuance of your CPT. After this point, all future documents affecting the land must be filed with the registrar of titles rather than the county recorder. You will need to pay a registration fee when the directive is filed.
