§ 142G.56 — Assessment; Employment Plans

Plain-Language Summary

Your job counselor will assess your skills, education, work history, and any barriers to employment to create an employment plan for you. The plan identifies the work activities you must do, the hours required, and what support services you will receive. You help develop the plan and must agree to follow it.

Practical Notes
The assessment process is ongoing and covers your education, skills, child care needs, transportation, mental health, chemical health, and learning needs. If you have been on MFIP for 12 months without working, your case will be reviewed for additional support. Your employment plan should reflect your preferences when possible.
