§ 148E.126 — Provisional License; Documentation of Supervision

Plain-Language Summary

This section sets the documentation requirements for supervision under a provisional license. Provisional licensees must file a supervision plan within 30 days of starting work. Their supervisor must submit evaluations every six months during the first 2,000 hours of practice. The final evaluation must confirm that the licensee can practice social work competently and ethically.

Practical Notes
Provisional license supervision documentation has shorter deadlines than for full licenses—30 days instead of 60 days. Regular six-month evaluations keep the board informed about the provisional licensee’s progress. A negative evaluation can trigger board action against the provisional license. The board must approve both the supervisor and the supervision plan before the arrangement is valid.
