§ 171.17 — Revocation

Plain-Language Summary

The state must immediately revoke your driver's license if you are convicted of certain serious offenses. These include vehicular manslaughter, DWI, fleeing police, hit-and-run causing death or injury, using a vehicle to commit a felony, or driving over 100 mph. Three moving violations within 12 months also trigger revocation.

Practical Notes
Revocation is more serious than suspension. A revoked license requires you to reapply and pass exams to get a new license. Driving over 100 mph results in an automatic 6-month revocation.
