§ 254B.04 — Eligibility for Behavioral Health Fund Services

Plain-Language Summary

This section sets the rules for who can get substance use disorder treatment paid for by the state's behavioral health fund. People who qualify include those on medical assistance, MFIP, general assistance, or who have low income. A person is eligible for one 60-day treatment period per year but may request more.

Practical Notes
Parents with children who need treatment may receive help accessing appropriate services, including programs where children can stay with the parent. Clients must provide income and household information to determine eligibility. If a person has private insurance that does not cover the full cost, the behavioral health fund can help pay the difference.
