§ 142G.21 — Applicant and Participant Rights; County Agency Duty

Plain-Language Summary

This section lists the rights of MFIP applicants and participants. You have the right to get information about the program, choose someone to represent you, receive written notice of any decision about your case, and appeal any action you disagree with.

Practical Notes
If the county denies your application or reduces your benefits, they must tell you in writing and explain your right to appeal. You must receive at least ten days notice before benefits are reduced or stopped. You can keep getting benefits while your appeal is pending if you request a hearing in time.
