§ 270C.69 — Withholding by Employer of Delinquent Taxes

Plain-Language Summary

If you owe delinquent taxes, the department can order your employer to withhold money from your paycheck and send it to the state. You get 30 days' notice before this starts, and certain wage exemptions protect a basic amount of your pay.

Practical Notes
Similar to wage garnishment – the state can take money directly from your paycheck for unpaid taxes. You have 30 days after notice to respond.
