§ 142G.54 — Employment and Training; County Duties

Plain-Language Summary

Each county must develop employment and training services to help MFIP participants find jobs. Counties must provide these services within 30 days of determining eligibility. Counties must contract with at least two service providers, and participants generally get to choose their provider.

Practical Notes
If you are new to MFIP, you should receive employment services within 30 days. You have the right to choose from at least two service providers in most counties. Small counties with fewer than 30 MFIP cases may have only one provider. The county must give you written materials explaining the available services and your rights.
